Hasan Haider is the Founder and Managing Partner of +VC, an early stage venture capital firm focused on investing in tech and tech-enabled startups in MENA and its diaspora. He has over 10 years of experience investing in MENA startups.
Hasan was previously Managing Partner, MENA at 500 Startups and led the firm’s growth in the MENA region, turning 500 Startups into the most active VC fund in the MENA region, raising and deploying the 500 Falcons fund, building partnerships and running programs in the region to help build the regional ecosystem. Prior to 500, Hasan was the co-founder and CEO of Tenmou, the first business angel’s organization in Bahrain and one of the first in the MENA region. Hasan’s work in developing angel investment in emerging markets through Tenmou has been picked up as a Case Study by the World Bank and Harvard and was taught to Entrepreneurship Policy makers at Babson College. Prior to joining +VC, Ibrahim played a key role, as a senior pioneering member and advisor, in establishing a PIF owned Company. The aim of the company was to convert, develop and operate a number of historical royal palaces into ultra-luxury boutique hotels as part of Vision 2030. In his role, he helped form the company’s strategy, structure its development and operation capabilities; subsequently, as Investment Director, was responsible for investments with a target of deploying SAR 7.5 billion.
Prior to that, Ibrahim established and institutionalized a private family office with a diversified portfolio of investments, from private equity to real estate, direct and indirect investments, and continues to sit on the investment committee.
In addition, Ibrahim founded a real estate development company where he successfully sold his first project off-plan and progressed to create a trusted name as a developer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company is currently operating in partnership and Ibrahim is a board member.
Ibrahim started his career in investment banking at HSBC Investment Bank before starting his corporate/ entrepreneurial journey. He graduated from University of London, Royal Holloway with a degree in Business Management.
